Military Veterans are Encouraged to Apply. -kkodis is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for a full-time opportunity with a a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of advanced analytical, test and measurement instrumentation for the energy, aerospace, power, research, medical and industrial markets! This is an ONSITE position in Mount Prospect, IL, therefore candidates will need to be local. The Purchasing Assistant will perform purchasing and inventory activities as well as some forecasting analysis. Candidates should have 2-4 years of recent buyer/purchasing experience, and experience in Great Plains ERP is a plus.



The requirements listed below are representative of the responsibilities, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position:



Job Functions / Responsibilities:

• Maintains files and records

• Contributes to the coordination of operations regarding various matters, including assisting with the day-to-day tasks for procurement, warehousing and inventory

• Provides analyst support for variances, inventory and operations

• Serves as a back-up person on inventory transactions and tickets

• Assist with parts shortages given by contract manufacturers

• Assist buyer/planners across product lines with purchase orders as needed

• Assist in year-end preparation and activities

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed

• Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2-4 years recent purchasing experience combined with knowledge of general accounting knowledge

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Experience purchasing electronics & electronic assemblies is a plus

• Must be extremely responsive & action-oriented

• Take charge attitude required

• Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Great Plains ERP software experience is a plus



Desired Education/Training:

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience
