POSITION OVERVIEW:NOC Staff are responsible for the daily operations of the Mount Prospect and Alsip data centers. The support staff monitor the environmental, electrical, mechanical systems, in addition to the physical security of the building. Opportunity to learn and or perform Smart-Hands work. Smart-Hands consists of activities including installation, maintenance, and some technical hands-on IT equipment, including routers, switches, servers and storage. The data center is manned 24x7x365. Activities within the data center must comply with all compliance controls set forth in our multiple audits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Perform scheduled rounds, timely and accurately, including front-line maintenance & support to data center operations and all that it entails
--- Review all visitor access to be in compliance with then current Data Center Control Policy.
--- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of activities such as shift reports, rounds, maintenance.
--- Identification of issues and escalation to Management and subject matter experts.
--- Learn and assist with SOC, PCI, and HIPPA compliance.
--- Clear and timely notification to customers of data center status.
--- Appear professional in person, email, and phone with polite and timely responses.
--- Keep public areas neat: NOC office, client space, conference rooms.
--- Opening tickets and tracking to completion of requests, activities and issues.
--- Receiving packages and authorizing equipment moves.
--- Monitor video and door security systems.
--- Perform daily grounds check.
--- Timely answering and acknowledgement of phone and noc@nplus2.com requests.
--- Install IT equipment in racks and suites per client requirements.
--- Maintain a pleasant demeanor to customers and co-workers
--- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
--- Rudimentary understanding of networking, workstations, and servers
--- Ability to lift 50 pounds
--- Accurately follow written policy and procedure
--- Attention to detail
--- Stay on tasks to completion
--- Documenting activities and observations in tickets, shift reports, and otherwise as needed
