Your Impact: -Atlas is currently seeking -new talent to join our
team as a Lab Technician- Optical/Electronics, eager to learn and
develop with our organization. In this role, you will -be
responsible for conducting day to day calibrations, supporting
R&D by performing Instrument service, maintenance and repairs,
as well as conducting R&D experiments as directed by
Engineering & Optical Lab.You will report to the Laboratory
Manager, and work both independently and as a team by collaborating
with Engineering, Optical Laboratory, Sales & Customer Service,
Production, Test Line, Quality, Shipping and Stockroom, to ensure
relevant staff are kept informed of calibration delays/issues
&/or repair status, and to meet customer calibration and
instrument service schedules.Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform -commercial calibration service of xenon arc lamp,
filter radiometer, and other similar light sensors or power
measurement devices in accordance with specifications submitted
from Engineering.
- Read and understand -test schedules, work orders, sales orders
and prioritize -and conduct -calibrations in support of production
units, and special requests from customer service.
- Maintain -logs and LIMS entries of calibration results, repair,
and schedules for all instruments.
- Ensure -all calibration standards and test equipment are within
calibration and performs annual proficiency tests.
- Conduct a -variety of electronic, mechanical,
electro-mechanical and optical service and repair activities on all
commercial calibration and R&D lab instruments, sub-assemblies,
and parts.
- Employ -troubleshooting techniques to determine cause of
instrument failure and implement repairs where necessary.
- Ensure -all test equipment adheres to ISO17025
requirements.
- Ensure -lab facilities (compressed air, tap water, DI water),
and environmental conditions (Temperature and Humidity) meet test
and calibration requirements.
- Perform -pre-test instrument configuration and calibration,
sample preparations, executing and logging test data for a range of
R&D activities including, but not limited to: EMC, TUV,
Software, Material Weathering, and Instrument performance tests.
Position Requirements:
- Technical certification required.
- Minimum -2-4 years of experience
- Must have knowledge of testing and troubleshooting procedures,
knowledge/or experience of servicing, repairing, and assembling:
electronic, mechanical, optical, and electromechanical
systems.
- Must be capable of reading and understanding digital displays
and gauges, indicating electronic characteristics such as volts,
amps, frequency, inductance, capacitance, and pressure.
- Must be able to read -and understand -test manual instructions,
lab procedures, performance specifications, wiring diagrams and
instrument schematics.
- Requires familiarity with test standards and the use of
material testing equipment (glossmeter and/or Datacolor).
- Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Access, ERP
System).
- Prior use of spectroradiometers, UV light sources, and optical
