Job Description:
The Illinois Department of Revenue, Board of Appeals, is seeking
to hire licensed attorneys to act as Board Hearing Officers. These
individuals will be responsible for reviewing Petitions filed with
the Board of Appeals, any documentation submitted and the
Taxpayer's account. The Hearing Officer may conduct hearings if
requested by the taxpayer or the taxpayer's attorney. The hearings
may be conducted in person or by phone. The Hearing Officer is then
responsible for making a recommendation for relief and drafting an
Order in accordance with their recommended relief. The ideal
candidate will have some State or federal tax experience; the
ability to work independently; and have superior writing
skills.

Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor
("OEIG") or may be subject to a fine.
