Location: Mount Prospect, IL 2nd Shift = starting 1.30, 2.30, 3.30 PM (See Note 1) Compensation: Annual Salary range $80K - $85K + Annual Bonus - Target 10% Relocation: Client can offer a sign-on bonus of $5K - $10K for relocation assistance Full benefits - Medical (starts 1st of month), Dental, Vision, 401K, 16 days PTO, 10 days Vac etc. Company Info: A major pharmaceutical distribution company with $100+ Billion in sales, has a high-tech, high-speed and high-volume pharmaceutical packaging plant in Illinois with around 500 people, dispensing unique prescription packages of around 800Kper week Group Info: Be part of the non-union Maintenance group of 20+ technical people. This is a permanent salaried position with around 8 people reporting under this role and will report to the Maintenance Manager. Note 1:This is a 2nd shift position working - Mon/Tue: 3:30pm to 12:00am, Wed: 1:30pm to 10:30pm, Thur/Fri: 2:30pm to 11:30pm. Note 2: The high-speed packaging operation includes high tech systems with 6 axis robots (ABB), vision inspection (Cognex), barcode scanners, conveyers, counting, dispensing, bottling, packing, and boxing/bagging all controlled by sophisticated PLC/HMI (Allen Bradley MicroLogix, + Bechoff controller) Servomotors based automation systems. Note 3: The right person will need experience maintaining Plant production/packaging systems. Candidates with only facility/utility/HVAC system maintenance experiencewill not be considered Job Summary: Supervise a team of 8 multi-skilled maintenance mechanics and Leads while working with engineers and other technical support personnel to maintain equipment in a large volume advanced technology pharmaceutical dispensing facility to ensure equipment availability, efficiency and reliability. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Automation department in our distribution center for our mail order pharmacy. Oversee a group of multi-craft, skilled maintenance technicians who are responsible for maintaining and repairing all production equipment throughout the distribution center. Responsible for participation in the hiring process, provision of guidance and direction to staff, schedule preparation and management, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, staff training, problem solving and follow-up, performance monitoring and evaluation, including corrective action, and data gathering and report preparation Provide a leadership role in mentoring, training and developing less experienced maintenance team members. Your efforts will impact the lives of thousands of patients who rely on the critical medications that are dispensed by this facility. Job Description: Plans and schedules maintenance work related to corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, work order requests, equipment installation and project related work. Facilitate all work group activities to meet established quality standards and the objectives of Safety, Cost and Delivery and interface with maintenance manager to coordinate daily and weekly activities and set priorities. Ensure technicians operate in a safe and efficient manner and that all safety guidelines and rules are followed. Facilitates implementation of action to improve safety performance. Proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns before an incident occurs. Must be willing to travel in support of other locations at times. Candidate Must Have: Associates Degree or Technical Certificate5+ years maintenance, troubleshooting, installing and testing experience with Automation systems like - PLC/HMI, Barcode Scanning, Vision Inspection in high Speed packaging Industries like - Food, BioPharma, Cosmetics, Automotive, Medical Device, consumer goods.3+ years working in a Supervisory role with demonstrated competency to train team members.3+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).Experienceutilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and CMMSExperience troubleshooting and maintaining Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems (pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, vacuum pumps, etc.)Good communication & people skills to interface with production, engineering, etc. Ability to work independently in 2nd shift. (as per Note 1) Candidate Nice to Have: BS DegreeFamiliar with Lean Manufacturing and Six SigmaFamiliar with 5 Why and/or other Root Cause Analysis toolsExperience working in a regulated environment - GMP, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, FDA, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device, OSHA, LOTO, etc. Troubleshooting experience with Robots & vision inspection systems.
