Description:GENERAL SUMMARYThe Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the assessment of patients including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients receiving moderate sedation for surgical procedures. The IR Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the comfort and safety of patients for a designated time frame.Full Time; M-FNo weekends, or observed holidays!We offer competitive pay as well as PTO, Holiday pay, and comprehensive benefits package!Benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life Insurance Pet Insurance Health savings account Paid sick time Paid time off Paid holidays Profit sharing Retirement plan Free parkingWill travel to New Lennox as needed for training and coverage.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIESResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.Assists physician during procedures.Completes patient assessment, monitoring for procedures and post-care.Conducts patient education before test performs follow up when necessary.Inserts PICC lines and performs troubleshooting maintenance.Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.Safely administer moderate sedation/medications ordered by clinicians.Submit prescriptions and refills to pharmacies per licensed clinician orders.Assist in the onboarding or cross training of team members.Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.Prepares rooms, steriles instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.Communicates physician treatment plan including lab/imaging results to patients and documents appropriately within the EMR.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTSRN license and certification as required by state.BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.Certified Radiology Nurse preferredKNOWLEDGE - SKILLS - ABILITIESExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions.Ability to build relationships with patients and display empathy and compassion to patients.Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.Takes responsibility for own actions and is forthright about errors or uncertaintyAbility to handle stressful and constantly changing conditions.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSGraduate of accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum one-year Interventional Radiology experience strongly preferred.by Jobble
