- -SUMMARY: Handle a diverse supply base that can support
stakeholders within our organization. Conduct RFI's and RFP's and
analyze rates, capability, and experience for determining supplier
selections; make decisions while remaining compliant with the
overall sourcing strategy. Create, handle, and maintain supplier
benchmark pricing in support of new customer opportunities and
organizational cost studies. Perform activities related to
onboarding new suppliers into the network. Compile and interpret
performance metrics for meetings with customers and suppliers;
address operational issues as required. Participate in Quarterly
and Annual business reviews. Research data to ascertain changes,
anomalies, or new opportunities within the network. Ensure
departmental records are maintained in accordance with established
policies, procedures, and audit guidelines. - - -ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Works with internal and external partners on
projects/issues as it relates to carriers/transportation
providers.Provide market intel; regarding rate trends by mode based
on industry reports.Manages carrier relationships, including:
identifying new service providers, contract review and negotiation,
rate negotiation and performance.Analyze RFP process, rates,
freight payment and audit.Drive Cost savings through continuous
improvement activities in the transportation landscape.Identifies
cost and service impacts and makes recommendations to support
business initiatives and requirements.Works with business partners
and management to support Sales and Operations Planning process and
on-time delivery performance.Works cross-functionally with
procurement, finance, accounts payable and sales to ensure the
Supply Chain department's SLA's are met.Manage Freight Audit and
Payment Analyst, assisting them in resolving billing issues and
discrepancies.All other duties as assigned. - -EDUCATION,
EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:BA Degree in Business
Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related
area. 5-7+ years third party logistics and/or Logistics Management
experience.Proven contract negotiation experience that resulted in
best-in-class cost and service solutions.Must possess critical
thinking, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and strategic
thinking skills.Experience with Rail, Freight Brokers, Common
Carriers, Dry Van, LTL, Refrigerated carriers.Extensive knowledge
and understanding of transportation, regulatory requirements,
warehouse operations and supply chain processes.Superior verbal,
presentation, written, email communication, interpersonal,
collaboration skills. Knowledge and/or prior experience working
within a TMS system is required, experience working within
MercuryGate is a plus.Knowledge and or prior experience working
with Digital Procurement Software is required, experience working
with Coupa Sourcing Optimization is plusAbility to manage time,
organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects/tasks with
overlapping deadlines.Capacity to work independently or within a
team environment.Prior people management experience is a plus.
