$45 – $52/hr Type of Role: Contra ct to Hire Summary: We are
partnered with a global client in the manufacturing industry that
is seeking to add an Environmental & Safety Manager to their team
in Palatine, IL. This role will be responsible for ensuring
compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS)
regulations and for driving a strong safety culture within the
facility. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain
environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance
with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001,
etc.). Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk
assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective
actions. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and
develop preventive measures to reduce workplace injuries and
environmental risks. Manage and maintain all environmental permits,
records, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with plant
management and employees to promote safety awareness and continuous
improvement in EHS performance. Develop and deliver training
programs on safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
Oversee hazardous waste management, air and water quality
compliance, and emergency response programs. Monitor and analyze
safety performance metrics and recommend data-driven improvements.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure
timely reporting and compliance documentation. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety,
Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 5
years of experience in an EHS or Safety Management role within a
manufacturing or industrial environment—electrical manufacturing
experience a plus. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state
environmental/safety regulations. Demonstrated success implementing
safety programs and reducing incident rates. Strong communication,
leadership, and training skills. Ability to manage multiple
priorities and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety
Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or CIH
(Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred. Qualified applicants
