We are seeking a skilled and experienced structural engineer
specializing in structural repair, with a focus on concrete
structures, to join our Structural Engineering & Evaluation team
based at our corporate office in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The
ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural
engineering principles and a proven track record in analyzing and
designing repair solutions for various types of concrete
structures. Knowledge of other structural materials such as steel,
masonry, and timber is a plus. The candidate should be
detail-oriented, have excellent analytical skills, and be able to
communicate effectively with clients and team members. The
candidate will play a key role in expanding CTLGroup's client base
in the buildings and facilities sector. While a senior-level

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural condition assessments to determine the
extent of damage or deterioration in concrete buildings and
infrastructure.
- Apply non-destructive evaluation techniques, conduct in-situ
testing, and prescribe laboratory testing to characterize and
diagnose issues.
- Analyze structural systems using engineering software and
manual calculations to support diagnosis and develop repair
solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting observations, analyses,
findings, and recommendations.
- Design repair and strengthening schemes for damaged or
deteriorated concrete structures based on investigative
findings.
- Develop engineering plans and specifications for repair
projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams
during the implementation of repair projects.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress of repairs and ensure
consistency with design intent.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other
stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of repair
projects.
- Manage and oversee projects, ensuring deadlines and budget
constraints are met.
- Stay abreast of advancements in concrete structural evaluation
and repair.
- Explore markets in area of expertise and participate in
business development activities toward meeting personal
productivity expectations and contributing to group
profitability.
- Proactively participate in professional development and thought
leadership activities.
- Mentor and coach junior staff. Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Civil, Structural, or
Architectural Engineering required; Master's degree (MS)
preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience, with a focus on structural
evaluation and repair.
- Licensure: Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in Illinois;
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, National Council of Examiners
for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record, and multi-state
licensure is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication
skills, especially in presenting complex technical
information.
- Analytical Skills: Strong background in principles of
structural engineering and concrete structural behavior.
Understanding of concrete non-destructive evaluation and testing
techniques. Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g.,
SAP2000, ETABS). Knowledge of building codes and standards,
especially those related to concrete structural repair.
- Project Management: Experience managing and leading structural
evaluation and repair projects.
- Business Development: Experience with client engagement,
development of project scopes and budgets, and proposal
preparation. Physical and Travel Demands
- Position may require some work to be completed in a field or
laboratory environment, including possible work from heights or in
confined spaces.
- Role may require working additional hours.
- Up to 25% travel may be required for this position.
