will provide your expertise for plastics processing technologies
for disposables and solutions in Baxter's global manufacturing
network. You will lead and direct the assessment process on
material selection to drive processing and ongoing material cost
benefits, provide full mold and design support for manufacturing
assembly, manage prototype activities, and production capacity
assessments. In addition, you will be responsible for design
transfers specific to plastic parts. Your team We are a team of

further development. What you'll be doing
- Apply innovative techniques in plastics processing technologies
to develop new or improved products and processes.
- Perform financial planning and assist in the analysis to
justify project approval.
- Independently plan, schedule, and lead multi-functional team
through detailed phases of the project's engineering work. This
includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules,
collaborating with development groups and technical support
groups.
- Establish tooling and other strategies that support reduced
capital spend, superior quality, cost position and quick time to
market objectives.
- Lead new product evaluation and support New Product Development
team through analysis of new plastic part tooling and technology
capability. Work with Product Development teams to optimize part
manufacturability while meeting or improving part specifications,
production key process indicators, and cost optimization
- Use risk analysis tools (e.g. g., FMEA, Mold Flow, etc.) to
reduce potential for part and tooling failures.
- Work independently or in collaboration with other technical
leaders, engages in the conceptualization and new technology
planning and production solutions.
- Support quotation development and capital expense management.
Monitor and assess subcontracted mold designs ensuring they conform
to Baxter standards/specifications. Facilitate support for first
off tool, factory acceptance testing (FAT), or other as needed
trials required New Product Development or Process Improvement
teams.
- Assist the process engineers during first article inspection
(FAI) runs and other supplier development activities.
- Work with tooling vendors or tool rooms to address outstanding
tooling issues as needed. Provide ongoing support of current
processes and equipment.
- Support plant teams in the resolution of tooling and process
related issues.
- Support Production/Plant engineering in the design and
equipment implementation for continuous improvement and lean
manufacturing deployment. What you'll bring
- B.S. in Engineering is required.
- 8+ years of plastics injection molding experience, preferably
with onsite molding sites.
- Preferably possesses certifications in either Systematic
Molding, Master Molder I, or Master Molder II.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use and application of tools
such as process FMEA, control strategies, modeling and simulation
software, statistical methods, problem solving, materials science,
and design of experiments (DOE).
- Recognized as a technical expert in Plastics Engineering
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence on
recommended courses of action using both written and verbal
methods.
- The ability to provide solutions that reflect understanding
business objectives and cost implications.
- Direct experience or advanced training applicable to the
processing of thermoplastics and/or extruded materials in a
production environment.
- Experience in supporting product and process development
through the product lifecycle and associated assets.
- Previous work with medical grade plastics processing preferred.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider
the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to
equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more
transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for
this position is $80,000 - $180,000 annually. The estimated range
is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position.
We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon
market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise,
experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be
eligible for discretionary bonuses. For questions about this, our
