Field Service Technician The Company is looking for a full-time traveling Field Service Engineer Technician to join the team who is motivated, hardworking, and analytical. The position is responsible for customer on-site service and repair of equipment ensuring product quality, availability and value aligned with business goals and objectives. An outstanding candidate will like to travel (up to 80%), have a strong mechanical and electrical background and strong customer service skills / vendor management.Essential Job Functions:Performs on-site installs, acceptances, service and repair of machinesTroubleshoots equipment problems and recommends solutions Responds to customer inquiries and phone calls Interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents before installing a new piece of equipment. Calibrates different parts of the machine and ensure everything runs smoothly, then test it for accuracy.Maintains records, reports and work order logs as required to provide proof of servicePerform preventative maintenance by regularly inspecting equipment to make sure it conforms to normal operational standards, then take steps to correct any abnormalities. Using diagnostic tools to identify issues and evaluating the available information.Fixing defective or broken products or ordering the necessary parts to replace faulty or worn partsUphold Safety standards and regulationsResponds to emergency service calls as required and escalates for quick resolutionCompletes installs and trains internal customer technicians on system operation Performs upgrades and modifications to equipment as neededMaintains current knowledge on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals, and other relevant materialsResponsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and security of company property including vehicles, tools, etc.Coordinates activities with peers, supervisor(s), and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptionsManage special projects as requiredEducation / Experience:Associates degree or technical certification in mechanical, electronics, engineering, or other applicable fields of study; Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology preferredMinimum 3 + years experience in maintenance, repair, and installsStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude / ability to use appropriate toolsStrong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and diagnose, solve problems based on customers' non-technical descriptionsAbility to interpret engineering drawings- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematicsProficiency with pneumatic, hydraulic components and servo systemsBasic knowledge in machine operationsPrior experience in Machine Tools is a plus but not required.Other Duties and Qualifications:Detail oriented and results focusedExcellent customer serviceAbility to problem solve in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projectsMust be hands-on, analytical, and highly collaborative capable of delivering resultsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills Able to multi-task and stay organizedSelf-starter and eager to learnAbility to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of managementHas an interest in new technologiesMust be able to travel to Germany for trainingPhysical Requirements: Job duties are often performed in confined areas. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds are required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing.
