Manager
Position Overview:Hands-on Manufacturing Engineer is responsible
for the technical support of mass produced and/or distributed
electronic components and manufactured electro-mechanical
assemblies. The position requires a solid electrical/electronic
know-how to develop/modify electrical test equipment and
troubleshoot process errors. Successful candidate will work with
Production and Quality team in determining product and process
issues affecting safety, quality and productivity goals.
Essential Job Functions: - Support Manufacturing Manager in driving
productivity goals through process validation, production technical
support, scheduling, BOM/Routing data management and overseeing
day-to-day production activities. - Develop and/or modify
electrical/electronic testing equipment and/or create assembly
fixtures to enhance process repeatability and error proof assembly
utilizing metal fabrication equipment. - Work with customers on
quality issues and other internal departments to resolve quality
issues. Respond with customer specified corrective action format. -
Support technical side of project hand-offs from Engineering to
Production. - Create and maintain documentation of Assembly and
Test Instructions. - Provide technical support to Production and
Quality staff to determine root cause of internal and external
failures and suggest ideas for resolution. - Initiate continuous
improvement projects that will impact process efficiency, equipment
reliability, process safety and quality through careful
investigation and/or utilizing Lean techniques. - Assist in Lean
transformation program by initiating 5S audits, Time study, Line
Balancing and Floor re-layouts.
Qualifications/Skills Required: - Technical Degree (preferably
Electrical/Electronic related) and/or related experience. - 3+
years manufacturing experience from a high mix - low volume
assembly industry preferred. - Proficient in building/modifying
electrical test fixtures to test functionality of low voltage
electrical products. - Knowledgeable of electronic circuits, able
to read electrical schematic diagrams, interpret data sheets,
mechanical drawings, GD&T, as needed. - Comfortable writing
Assembly/Test Work Instructions using MS Office Application. -
Training in Lean Manufacturing, 5S and other continuous improvement
methodologies a plus. - Working knowledge of 2D/3D design software
a plus. - Ability to perform job functions with limited
supervision. - Excellent analytical skills, able to prioritize
tasks as needed. - Self-starter with good organization skills. -
Ability to adapt to changing priorities with sense of urgency. -
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal
and external customers.
