Job Description:

Within the academic medical center and hospital, diagnose and treat

critical neurological disorders including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage,

intracerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus,

infection of the brain and spinal cord, post-operative neurosurgical

patients, and neuromuscular diseases. Manage respiratory and hemodynamic

failure in patients. Care for patients in Neurointensive Care Unit. Examine p

patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests to determine course of t

treatment. Participate in clinical studies and other research, write a

articles for medical journals and give presentations at professional m

meetings. Participate in the development of medical and clinical policies a

and case consultation to clinical staff. Train medical students, residents a

and fellows through rotations and in classroom setting.

Requirements: Medical Degree or its equivalent, IL medical license or

ability to obtain. Must have completed: Four (4) year accredited Neurology

residency program and Two (2) year UCNS accredited Neurocritical care

fellowship. Must be: Board Certified or eligible in Neurology, Board

certified or eligible in Neurocritical care, and ACLS and BLS certified or a

ability to obtain. Residency and Fellowship experience must include 24 m

months of experience in management of patients requiring sedation, m

mechanical ventilation and critical care procedures.
