Applied Data Fellowship (ADF), based at the University of Chicago
Harris School of Public Policy, focuses on the intersection of data
analysis and public policy in the United States. The ADF embeds
talented young professionals with strong data skills into local
government and nonprofit organizations. The Program Coordinator
will work in collaboration with the Directors to coordinate and
support the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of

organization. Job Summary The Program Coordinator will work in
collaboration with the Executive Director and ADF Staff to
coordinate and support the day-to-day administrative, operational,
and recruitment activities of the program. This role is central to
the Fellow experience, requiring a blend of project management,
stakeholder coordination, and candidate engagement. The ideal
candidate is personable, possesses a high level of attention to
detail, and has a burgeoning interest in the following sectors –
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting Public Policy & Social Impact
Consulting Human Resources Process & Operations Management
Technology Adoption – AI Enablement, Translating Data into Action
Responsibilities Evangelize the ADF opportunity through digital
platforms (LinkedIn/Handshake) and in-person events. Support/lead
first-round behavioral interviews to assess candidate fit. Ensure
initiatives move forward with appropriate momentum, tracking
implementation and follow-up with internal and external
stakeholders. Facilitate matching meetings between Fellows and
Partners; manage the administrative lifecycle of partnership
agreements and offer letters. Act as a primary point of contact for
Fellows during the match process and throughout the year. Organize
informal events to foster cohesion in the ADF cohort. Contribute to
ADF policy development and manage program communications, including
website content and materials dissemination. Occasionally manage
the Faculty Director’s calendar and international travel
arrangements with discretion and effective prioritization. Plans
and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as
appropriate. Analyzes program budgets and uses a moderate/high
level of authority to recommend or makes budgetary recommendations.
Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university
degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements
include knowledge and skills developed through Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications Experience: Knowledge and skills developed
through work experience in a related job discipline; this can
include internships and part-time roles. Proficiency in MS Office
(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Sheets,
Forms), and database management. Familiarity with LinkedIn,
Handshake, and professional job boards. Knowledge and skills

Competencies Curious, personable, fun and ready to learn the work
ADF Fellows and Partners do. Excellent oral and written
communication skills in a variety of mediums – email, social media,
newsletters/websites. Very organized and detail-oriented – a person
inclined towards process thinking and proactive problem-solving.
Excellent skills in working both independently and as a team member
(comfortable managing up). Strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to remain courteous and professional at all times.
Technical Literacy: Awareness of tools such as SQL, Python, and
advanced Excel (to effectively understand Fellow projects and
screen candidates). Flexibility in working within a growing
organization. Demonstrated ability to review and prioritize work
independently and effectively. Ability to use appropriate resources
to resolve an issue and to follow an issue through to resolution.
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and creative when problem-
solving. Ability to take initiative and organize and complete
projects with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain calm and
positive attitude and to work productively despite heavy workload,
competing priorities, complex problems, and tight deadlines.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations/information
