QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
2. Have a minimum of two years of successful experience in a
related secretarial or office
position
3. Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively and
fluently in English (Bilingual Spanish Preferred)
4. Demonstrate appropriate telephone etiquette with proper voice
inflection
5. Proficient in utilizing a computer to communicate via email and
in using an office
productivity suite like Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Word
and Excel) or Google
Apps for Education (including Docs and Sheets)
6. Experience using a student data base system preferred (Ex: Power
School)
7. Keyboarding skills: minimum 50 words per minute
8. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character
and initiative
9. Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal
skills
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator(s)
JOB GOAL: Performs confidential secretarial and clerical
responsibilities necessary for an
efficient and effective school office that assists the Principal or
designee and school staff in the
performance of responsibilities so that a safe learning environment
and effective instruction are
provided to ensure that all students meet and exceed the Core
Curriculum Content Standards.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Reports to work on time
2. Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance
3. Reads and responds to district/building communications in a
timely manner and within any
explicitly defined deadlines
4. Maintains appropriate student records
in sheets and reports, emergency contacts, etc.
6. Completes the routines necessary to maintain a productive
efficient school office
7. Receives and routes all incoming calls
8. Assists the administration in implementing the school security
procedures, including
greeting visitors, distributing visitor's passes, and maintaining
an electronic security/
visitor's log
9. Creates and types materials as directed by the
principal/administration
10. Organizes and maintains all school office filing systems
11. Processes purchase orders and assists the administration in
preparing annual budget
records
12. Orders and maintains office supplies
13. Manages and oversees schools' electronic Master Calendar which
includes paperwork for
building usage by outside organizations
14. Implements and follows the district's Health and
Accident/Injury Procedures and Blood
borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
15. Supports and implements the district's Risk Management Policy
in the assigned
building(s) to ensure that statutory and common law health and
safety rights are extended
to all visitors, employees, and students, to provide careful
supervision and protection of
all district real and personal property
16. Conducts himself/herself as a role model for students
17. Completes all District required trainings and adheres to all
Board policies and procedures
18. Participates in professional development/training programs as
directed by building or
district administrator(s)
19. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and
confidentiality
20. Performs additional job duties as assigned by the building
/district administrator(s)
