Job Description Job Description A construction company located in Bloomingdale, IL is looking for a proficient Accounting Manager for their six to eight million dollar annual revenue performing structural steel work as a subcontractor in the greater Chicago area. www.tabowman.com Responsibilities and Duties - Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation - Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the managers and owner. - Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules Qualifications and Skills - Experienced in construction accounting including: - Receive, review and return construction contracts from General Contractors and Construction Managers, obtain various review within TA Bowman’s office from Estimating Manager, Project Manager and Owner, and outside insurance agents, etc. - Proficiency with Quickbooks (QB) and Excel to enter project estimates, invoices from vendors, invoices to customers, prepare quarterly and year-end profit/loss, balance sheets, work in process worksheets. (TA Bowman uses an outside accounting firm to prepare year-end statements and tax returns.) - Prepare company and vendor partial and final waivers for exchange with customer to obtain payments. - Work with vendors to: - Issue PO and Subcontracts, obtaining proper certificates of insurance per contract. - Receive and pay their invoices after processing certified payroll and waivers as required - Prepare various QB and excel reports for TA Bowman employees and owner as requested. - Manage the TA Bowman bank deposits, wire transfers, in house transfers, and account balances in cooperation with the owner. - Be familiar with and able to work with on-line services for billing, etc. such as Textura-system and others as directed by the customers. Benefits - 7-8 paid holidays annually. - Quarterly Bonuses and Annual Profit Sharing per the Targeted Goals. - Generally, 90% of the employee cost of medical and 100% of dental insurance is paid by the company. - 10% of the employee medical cost and any added family coverage cost would be deducted from the employee’s compensation pretax. - Benefits are subject to change and renewed annually. We have 8 employees. Payroll in not included in the duties of the Accounting Manager. Hours are flexible. Workdays Monday-Friday. Possible that 2 of the days could be performed remotely.
