Job Summary World Wide Technology has an opening for a Program
Manager to support the Solutions Consulting & Engineering
(SC&E) Strategic Initiatives & Operations (SI&O) team. This
role will report directly to the Sr. Manager, SC&E Initiatives
and will be responsible for working with teams across the business,
IT, HR, Finance and SI&O to assess business needs and help
understand and improve work processes. The Program Manager is
responsible for coordinating, leading, and orchestrating the
alignment of large complex work efforts with matrixed teams to
deliver business outcomes that span across the organization. This
role will manage project and workstream teams, schedules, and
adhere to required project management governance and controls. This
also includes management of issues, risks and change requests to
ensure successful and on-time delivery of business outcomes. This
role will have knowledge and understanding of how the work efforts
under their responsibility align and how the outcomes work
together. This means that the Program Manager will also have a high
degree of EQ and understanding of the impacts the outcomes will
have on the organization as a whole. The Program Manager will also
participate in mentoring and coaching other more junior members of
the Initiatives Management team, as directed by the Sr. Mgr,
SC&E Initiatives. The Program Manager will exhibit excellent
written and verbal communication skills, must be self-directed, and
will be responsible for the day-to-day project activities of the
matrixed team. Verify that the program produces the required
deliverables with quality, within the specified constraints of time
and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the
business case. Job Responsiblities / Essential Functions /
Competencies
- Manage a suite of complex work efforts that span multiple time
zones with matrixed team members
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities to the matrixed teams to
build and motivate team members to meet work effort goals, adhering
to their responsibilities and project milestones
- Full program life cycle ownership: successful program delivery
will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for
the initiatives under their responsibility
- Communicates clearly and effectively with the Sr. Mgr, SC&E
Initiatives on status, risks, issues, and decisions that need to be
made on the programs and projects for which they are
responsible
- Report on program success criteria results, metrics, test and
deployment management activities
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving
environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
- Create, maintain and communicate project plans to organize and
drive the programs progress
- Manage the day to day program activities and resources and
chairs the program team meetings
- Provide status reporting regarding program milestones,
deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating
consistently to leadership
- Understands and manages interdependencies across the programs
workstreams
- Manage program scope and changes
- Manage all aspects of the program from planning, external
vendor relationships, communications, resources, change, risks and
issues
- Set and continually manage program expectations while
delegating and managing deliverables with team members and
stakeholders
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate
personnel
- Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues,
conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
- Ensure that programs are proceeding according to scope,
schedule, budget and quality standards
- Manage program issues and risks to mitigate impact to timelines
and outcomes
- May be responsible for the matrixed management of other
Initiatives Managers who may be supporting one or more of the
programs under the Program Managers responsibility Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business
Administration, Information Technology or equivalent Certifications
Optional
- PMI Project Management Professional or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a project or program manager
implementing large scale technology driven change.
- Industry Experience: Consulting or Technology service delivery
background strongly preferred
- External customer delivery processes and systems preferred
- Knowledge, background and/or hands on experience with Project
Portfolio Management (PPM) tools, preferred (such as ServiceNow,
Oracle PPM, Workday PSA, Clarity, etc)
- Matrixed team building and management background preferred
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including
the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and
technology organizations
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a
problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and
excellence
- Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and
presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, with the ability to adapt to change and
competing demands
- Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from clients, team
members, stakeholders and peers
- Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and
program team sizes, including internal and external resources,
while holding team accountable for performance
- Team-building skills with technical and non-technical
staff
- Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment
- Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities,
demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving
capabilities
- Technically competent with various software programs, including
but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Visio), SmartSheets, Visio, etc
- Builds productive relationships with peers and senior leaders
